What To Expect in General

It is important to know what to expect. To avoid misunderstandings, we have defined what is included by default in each service.  If you wish to add or remove tasks – that is fine! We just need to know. 

If the requests significantly change the time required (for set price regular cleaning, for example), we may need to adjust appointment time and charge accordingly. For the various other types of cleaning appointments, we bill hourly after providing an estimate.  In either case, we will always notify you, in advance, if the requirements, time or charges are significantly more or less than expected or communicated.

Additionally, it is ideal (though not necessary) if you are there for the first appointment – so we can go through everything with you, including special requests.

We do not require contracts – we count on you keeping us because we do a good job, period. You are welcome to cancel, reschedule or change services at any time (with advance notice – see our cancellation policy for short term cancellations).

Below is what is included, by default, in each type of service:

Regular Cleaning

Weekly, Each 2 Weeks, or Monthly 

  • Wiping down kitchen counter-tops and appliances, and all the details like cleaning inside the microwave oven.
  • Sanitize your sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs and showers.
  • Wash mirrors, wipe cupboard exteriors.
  • Dusting All open surfaces and blinds, dusting baseboards, wipe down your dressers, light switches, door handles, etc
  • Wipe down the tables and side tables, shelves, entertainment units, door handles, and all clear surfaces
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, mop or vacuum floors, all rooms
  • and whatever else we see that needs a cleaning touch

We clean your place as if OUR mother in law was coming there!

Our standard initial booking time:     3 cleaner-hours

Usual ongoing time required:                  3 to 5 cleaner-hours

Note that we do NOT do the following, unless specifically asked

  • Move items to clean – including items on the floor to vacuum, items on shelves to dust, etc.
  • Open drawers or cupboards – anything not ‘in the open’ will not be cleaned or touched.
  • Clean windows
  • Clean interior of appliances (fridge/stove) except microwave.
  • Clean the exterior of the property
One-Off and Event Cleaning
  • Wiping down kitchen counter-tops and appliances, and all the details like cleaning inside the microwave oven.
  • Sanitize your sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs and showers.
  • Wash mirrors, wipe cupboard exteriors.
  • Dusting All open surfaces and blinds, dusting baseboards, wipe down your dressers, light switches, door handles, etc
  • Wipe down the tables and side tables, shelves, entertainment units, door handles, and all clear surfaces
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, mop or vacuum floors, all rooms
  • We expect ‘extra mess’ which is why this is usually longer than a regular cleaning
  • and whatever else we see that needs a cleaning touch – we will leave the property as clean as if you just had a regular weekly cleaning, no matter the starting state!

Our standard booking time: 5 cleaner-hours

Note that  we do NOT do the following, unless specifically asked:

  • Open drawers or cupboards – anything not ‘in the open’ will not be cleaned or touched.
  • Clean windows
  • Clean interior of appliances (fridge/stove) except microwave.
  • Clean the exterior of the property
Air-BnB Cleaning
  • Wiping down kitchen counter-tops and appliances, and all the details like cleaning inside the microwave oven.
  • Sanitize your sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs and showers.
  • Wash mirrors, wipe cupboard exteriors.
  • Dusting All open surfaces and blinds, dusting baseboards, wipe down your dressers, light switches, door handles, etc
  • Wipe down the tables and side tables, shelves, entertainment units, door handles, and all clear surfaces
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, mop or vacuum floors, all rooms
  • and whatever else we see that needs a cleaning touch – we clean your place to 5* standards

      + We will follow agreed up directions as to what is needed – for example, doing laundry, changing sheets, running dishwasher and replacing dishes in cupboards, etc.  A list kept on-site is always appreciated, though not necessary.

Our standard booking time: 4 cleaner-hours

Note that we do NOT do the following, unless specifically asked

  • Clean windows
  • Clean interior of appliances (fridge/stove) except microwave.
  • Clean the exterior of the property
Move-In / Move-Out Cleaning
  • Wiping down kitchen counter-tops and appliances, and all the details like cleaning inside the microwave oven.
  • Sanitize your sinks, faucets, toilets, bathtubs and showers.
  • Wash mirrors, wipe cupboard exteriors.
  • Dusting All open surfaces and blinds, dusting baseboards, wipe down your dressers, light switches, door handles, etc
  • Wipe down the tables and side tables, shelves, entertainment units, door handles, and all clear surfaces where applicable
  • Vacuum carpets and rugs, mop or vacuum floors, all rooms
  • Clean fridge and stove and other appliances 
  • Clean walls and baseboards
  • Clean inside cupboards, shelves and drawers
  • Clean interior windows
  • Clean / wipe blinds

    —In short, we do EVERYTHING.  We aim to get things as clean as ‘new’ as we can.

Our standard booking time: 8 to 10 cleaner-hours

Note that we do NOT do the following, unless specifically asked

  • Move appliances or anything over 50 pounds (23kg)
  • Clean exterior windows
  • Clean exterior of property

We provide free no obligation quotes.

Because we are local, we do not have top heavy expenses (managers, regional managers, account reps, customer service departments, etc) — so can offer better value than a lot of the ‘big guys’.  We encourage you to reach out via phone or email, and would be more than happy to visit your site and provide a competitive quote.

Common Questions / Things to Know / Q&A

What if my regular provider is sick, on vacation or otherwise not available?

We will let you know via your preferred communication method, and find another quality team lead to take the appointment.  If you do NOT wish to have someone else do the service, please let us know.

Will it be JUST my regular cleaner?

We often send 2 people to a cleaning appointment.  The primary cleaner / team lead will always be the same person (when available – see previous question) – though the second/helper cleaner may not be the same each time. 
And sometimes there will not be a second cleaner.   Your primary cleaner ALWAYS takes full responsibility for the job, and the results.
Plus – 2 people is a safety benefit, as jobs often finish after dark. And with 2 – we are out of your hair quicker, with the same results!

One-off, event, move-in/out and air-BnB cleanings may have multiple helpers, depending on the size of the job, and time available.

How long will it take?

A standard 3 bedroom, 2 bath 2000 to 3000 square foot home usually takes about 3 to 3.5 cleaner hours.  Smaller properties may take less. Larger properties may take more.  If you wish us to do more than the standard cleaning routine, it also adds time.  A ‘full’ house can also add time.  As does some particular items – for example, glass showers take a lot longer than acrylic/porcelain.

On our first visit, we get a very good idea of how long it will normally take, and communicate that to you. We will also let you know if the property will take a few visits to get to where the cleaning is simply maintaining.  We will consult with you and decide together the best approach, for you.  

The above are ‘cleaner-hours’ — if there are 2 people on-site it will take less actual time. 

Rest assured, we will not surprise you with an unexpected bill. We communicate BEFORE doing the work, if it is out of the ordinary, or unexpected in any way.
